Community Outreach

My goal as a nurse is to promote health and wellness and to aid those in my community in accessing health care. Being raised in a large family in a small town instilled in me the sense of community. 

This summer, of 2023, I was given the opportunity to attend the Operation Walk Florida mission trip to rural Vietnam. As a team, we provided 62 total knee and hip replacements for the underserved. This experience reminded me of the impact of patient-centered, quality healthcare on patients and their families. We worked, sweated, laughed, and cried. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I will never forget. I will take the perspective this trip provided me throughout my career and with me in future community outreach projects. In 2024, I once again attended the Operation Walk Florida mission trip to Vietnam to continue our services and further the outreach of the underserved.
